Gerald Sibon joins Gertjan Verbeek as an assistant coach with his role encompassing youth football and the progression to the senior level, ensuring a more cohesive high-performance framework is implemented right across the club. An accomplished professional, Sibon experienced immense success as a player winning the Eredivisie three times and the Dutch cup on five occasions. The forward burst onto the scene at VVV-Venlo before moving to Roda Jc and Ajax. In 1999, the Dutchman signed with Sheffield Wednesday finishing as their golden boot winner in each of his three years at the Yorkshire club. He returned to his homeland, signing with SC Heerenveen and then PSV Eindhoven. Sibon is also familiar with the Australian football landscape after playing for Melbourne Heart in their inaugural campaign. Over the last four years Sibon has gained managerial experience, serving as an assistant at Heerenveen.
