Carl Veart returned to Adelaide United as an Assistant Coach in June 2019 and almost a year later was appointed interim Head Coach, before taking on the role permanently following a successful spell in charge. Veart had spent the last few years with Football Federation South Australia where he was the NTC Head Coach, and also holds an AFC Pro License. He was previously an Assistant with Adelaide during the tenure of Aurelio Vidmar as well as an Assistant with Australia U-20. Veart's playing career spanned 19 years in both Australia and England with the likes of Adelaide City, Sheffield United, Millwall and Adelaide United. The striker boasts the rare accomplishment of scoring the Reds' first-ever goal in the National Soccer League (NSL) and bagging the maiden goal in the Hyundai A-League.
