Ben Halloran

Having spent five years of his career abroad, playing in Germany and Japan respectively, the Socceroo winger returned to Australia and penned a two-year deal with the Reds in August 2018. Halloran left Brisbane Roar for Fortuna Düsseldorf in May 2013 before joining fellow German second division side 1. FC Heidenheim two seasons later. Following his productive goal-scoring form to end the season with Fortuna, Halloran threw himself into contention for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And after being selected in the 23-man squad, he would go onto to appear as a substitute in all three of Australia’s Group Stage matches. In January 2018, Halloran had a brief stint with J1 League team V-Varen Nagasaki before agreeing to join Adelaide.

In his first season with Adelaide, Halloran won the FFA Cup and scored an extra-time winner against Melbourne City in a home elimination final. The 29-year-old’s second season saw the winger add another FFA Cup to his honours, in addition to bagging a career season high 12 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions. At the end of his third season with the Club, he was bestowed the Aurelio Vidmar Medal for a brilliant year where he registered four goals and five assists.
