The Adelaide United Youth Team have responded well after yesterday-s disappointing loss with their first win, 1-0, against local Catalonia club Hostalric.

The team dominated from start to finish, completing 201/245 (82%) to 16/61 (30%) passes. The style was more than evident with defence, midfield and attack combining well, keeping possession and creating numerous chances. The goal scorer was Mitchel Walsh, who struck in the 5th minute.

Youth Team coach Michael Valkanis was very pleased with the result.

“We improved on yesterday-s performance by being more aggressive in the attacking third, making the right decisions and playing passes that created good goal-scoring opportunities.”

“The statistics show we dominated possession, but also our action/reaction to win the ball back completed our style.”

Youth Team Assistant Coach, Angelo Costanzo, also tweeted immediately after the game expressing his delight with the win:
