Adelaide United Youth Team were unable to clinch the win at the Marden Sports Complex against Perth Glory Youth in Round 6 of the Foxtel Y-League 2017/18 Season, in an exciting 2-2 drew.
The Young Reds game against Perth Glory ended in a 2-2 draw, in what was one of the most exciting games of the season so far for the boys.
Missing some key players, the boys were unable to replicate their great away win during the first round reverse fixture away from home.
The Reds took an early lead during the first half at the nineteenth-minute, with the opening goal through a tidy one-on-one finish from an in-form Pacifique Niyongabire.
Into the second half and Perth equalised at the fifty-fifth minute mark, as Chok Dau dribbled keeper Daniel Margush and passed the ball into the net, making the score 1-1.
The goals weren’t finished there when Niyongabire with some tidy footwork and step-overs won a penalty for the Reds at the sixty-sixth minute.
Stepping up to the spot, Charlie Deveraux converted the penalty calmly, driving the ball down the middle giving us the lead.
A goal came a few minutes later at the seventy-second minute from Perth Glory’s Yagoub Mustafa, after a cut back from the goal scorer Dau, squaring up the score once again.
Both teams fought hard to win it with the Reds hitting the post and Daniel Margush making pivotal saves to keep us in the game.
