Young Reds ready for Eastern United

The Adelaide United Youth Team will take on Eastern United in Round 20 of the NPL State League at the Elite System Football Centre on Sunday Afternoon.

As the Young Reds fell 2-1 last week against Cumberland United, Captain Adam Piscioneri, believes it’s a perfect opportunity for his team to bounce back in order to gather momentum for the rest of the season.

“It’s a massive test against a good team,” said Piscioneri.

“It’s a must win three points as we don’t want the teams up further on the ladder to gain an advantage point wise.

“The only way to do so, is to play to the style, defend well and take our opportunities.”

The Young Reds play two games in a row at home after a tough three matches away from home, which saw them only pick up three points out of nine.

“Obviously, our away form wasn’t the best over the three matches,” said Piscioneri.

“However, it’s a chance (the game against Eastern United) to get even with that form and hopefully do the fans proud and win.”

The Adelaide United Youth Team currently sits sixth on the ladder, seven points behind Adelaide Olympic.

“We are very optimistic and ready for this match,” said Piscioneri.

“We will take one game at a time and hopefully get the result we want.”
