The Adelaide United Youth Team will host the Adelaide Cobras in search to regain top spot on the NPL State League ladder at the Adelaide Shores Football Centre on Tuesday night.

The Young Reds coming off a defeat against their cross border rivals Melbourne Victory hope to resurrect their form which playmaker Dylan Smith believes the side is more than ready to play despite its busy schedule .

“Physically we are ready for the match as we have a few boys who weren’t involved in the game against The Victory so they will be fresh and ready to start tomorrow.”

“Mentally I think the boys will cope due to the fact the Youth League has come to an end and although we didn’t achieve what we would have liked, it will allow us to concentrate on The State League and hopefully we can get a good result tomorrow.”

With The Young Reds moving from playing Youth League teams to State League teams over this busy period, midfielder Dylan Smith concedes the fact that The Adelaide Cobras will be up to the task and ready for battle.

“We don’t know much about them (Adelaide Cobras) as a side but we do know they have a couple of good individual players.”

“We know that every State League game is going to be tough, so we have a plan and hopefully it works out for us tomorrow night.”

And when asked about Smith’s current physical status he stated he is ready to play despite an injury sustained a couple of weeks ago.

“Last week in the State League game against Cove I started on the bench due to a knee injury that week. So I haven’t played two full games like most of the other boys have but I am feeling fresh and ready for tomorrow”.

“Playing Cobras at home we will need to be at our best especially for the full 90 minutes, so we need to focus on playing our game and hopefully we can take all three points and continue our good start to the season.”
