Adelaide United Head Coach, Ivan Karlovic said his side are equipped with ammunition, but will need to be clinical in front of goal when they face a well-built Melbourne City at Lakeside Stadium on Sunday.

The Reds will be looking to recapture their form after last week’s loss to Newcastle Jets as they prepare for their trip Melbourne, with confidence intact.

Fifth-placed City would be ruing their missed opportunity for the three points back in Round 4, following a stoppage-time winner from Sydney FC, and with having the week off, they will also be out for maximum points.

Karlovic said that it will be important to limit Patrick Kisnorbo’s side opportunities on goal, but the Reds will need to be able to execute and win the match.

“We feel that we need to be a bit more clinical in taking our opportunities,” Karlovic said.

“Last week, we had more than enough chances to win the game of football, but we unfortunately didn’t take those chances and left without the result we desired.

“So, this week against Melbourne City, we want to be more clinical and try and nullify them to few opportunities.”

Karlovic said his team will face their next challenge with confidence in order to get the right result.

“As it is such a short season, every game is important and we will travel to Melbourne confident in trying to get a result,” Karlovic continued.

“We have a clean bill of health amongst the squad which is pleasing and we will have everyone available.”

Adelaide United Women will face Melbourne City Women in Round 6 of the Westfield W-League 2017/18 season on Sunday, 3 December at Lakeside Stadium at 4.30pm.
