Arriving back home from Brazil, Club Captain, Eugene Galekovic has a message to all you – the Fans!
I am back in Adelaide after taking some time off in Brazil following Australia-s World Cup campaign. It was both an honour and a privilege to be part of the squad. It-s a time I will never forget, and was definitely a highlight of my career. Being involved in two world cups is very special and something I will remember forever.
The atmosphere in Brazil was amazing. The passion the fans showed for their teams was on another level. The passion and excitement created at the games and around the stadiums is something I believe Adelaide United fans can match on a weekly basis.
Now that I am back, I am now preparing to join the rest of the team for a big pre-season. I know all of the boys have enjoyed the first few weeks of training, and are excited to build on what we started last season. Last season Josep and the coaching staff breathed new life into the playing group, along with implementing a new style. We have a very tight-knit group and that is credit to Josep and the coaches.
As players, the season can-t come quick enough. We love getting on the pitch and being able to play for each other, the coaches, and especially the members.
Our support from the members last season was brilliant; some of the best I-ve seen in the league. We want to see that support grow, and we want the passion to spread across the state. As players, we always ask the club ‘how many members do we have?- We want to see our member numbers grow, so that one day we are the best supported club in the league. But we can-t do it without you.
On behalf of the playing group, we ask that you get behind the team, and buy a membership. It-s the best way to support us. We want to play in front of a packed house each week and win every game possible with you standing beside us all the way.
We can-t do it alone. We need YOU!
