Carl Veart is delighted with the attacking football his side is currently displaying following Adelaide United’s 3-1 win against Macarthur FC on Wednesday night.

Tomi Juric, Craig Goodwin and Ben Halloran were all on target for the Reds in a game they could have easily scored three or four more goals.

The result lifts the South Australian outfit into second spot on the table, one point behind ladder leader Central Coast Mariners.

“I think the boys again, the last seven or eight weeks, the football that we’re playing and what I’m asking them to do they’re just doing that to a tee,” Veart said in the post-match press conference.

“I’m so happy for them and so proud of them.”

Josh Cavallo was excellent again at left-back and assisted Halloran’s audacious backheel volley with a volleyed cross of his own.

Naturally an attacking midfielder, the 21-year-old has been sensational since joining the Club in February with the Reds boss lauding his quality and versatility.

“I’ve known Josh (Cavallo) for three or four years now,” he said.

“I’ve had involvement with him and he’s a very clever player, he’s played most of his youth football as an attacking ten midfield player.

“So he’s definitely got the football smarts and he’s developed into a footballer with a great engine.

“We’re getting the benefits of all the hard work he’s put into his career so far.”

Despite the Reds missing several players through injury and suspension, Adelaide did not skip a beat with every player brought into the side understanding their respective roles.

Veart praised the next man up attitude in the squad and how they are willing to fight for each other.

“It’s a credit to the players,” he said.

“We’ve done a lot of hard work to get to where we’re at the moment, and they’ve got a really good understanding now of how I want to play and play that attacking brand of football.

“They’re carrying that out and I really enjoy watching them.”
