Guillermo Amor’s side will face Kuala Lumpur FA, which plays in the Malaysian Premier League, this evening, kicking-off at 9.00pm local time (10.30pm ACST) at Sime Darby Football Field.

Kuala Lumpur FA is currently sitting in fourth and most recently played out a 2-2 draw against Sabah FA. They are undefeated in their past four matches, but have won just once – a 2-1 win against Universiti Teknologi MARA Football Club (UiTM FC).

United midfielder, George Mells, says the Reds are looking forward to the clash and the chance to experience A-League-like situations in very warm weather.

“We’re really looking forward to the game against Kuala Lumpur FA tonight,” Mells said.

“The conditions are going to be tough because of how hot it is over here in Malaysia, but we have to get used to it for the new A-League season.

“Having been here for a few days now, we know what to expect from the weather, but not so much about how Kuala Lumpur will play.

“They’re in the middle of their season so I’m sure they’ll be fit, but we’ll play our football and focus on that and get some minutes under our belt.”

Adelaide United is in Malaysia as part of its preparations ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season. In total, Adelaide will be in Malaysia for eight days and will travel to Penang later in the week where they will face Malaysian Super League club, FA Penang.

The trip has been designed to assist with the Reds’ acclimatisation to the hot conditions they’re set to face during the Hyundai A-League season’s summer of football.
