The Club and Torrens University Australia will work collaboratively to help enhance key learning areas for Torrens University Australia students, giving them the opportunity to test their abilities in real-life, practical environments.

Adelaide United has already begun working with some of the university’s graphic design students on a live-brief project, which will see some of their work featured in the Club’s upcoming 2016/17 playing shirt release campaign. The Club will also contribute to student learning by providing real-world working experiences, case studies, and guest lectures/seminars to give students an insight into the professional sporting industry.

The partnership has also given Adelaide United players the opportunity to study at Torrens University Australia through a unique, Club-specific program. This program is internally based and is aimed at offering players the opportunity to further their learning.

As a result, Torrens University Australia has provided scholarships to Adelaide United which the Club will award to candidates wishing to partake in extra study in the field of Sports Management, in particular.

Speaking on the announcement, Adelaide United Chief Executive Officer, Grant Mayer, said: “This is an exciting partnership for Adelaide United as it gives us access to a range of skills and expertise that will help move our club forward.

“As a club, we’ll be able to do so by tapping into Torrens University Australia’s broad knowledge base and by utilising the many talents of the organisation’s staff and students on a number of our upcoming projects.

“Torrens University Australia have shown great commitment to making this partnership a success and we all look forward to working with their entire faculty and students well in to the future.”

In addition, Torrens University Australia’s Vice Chancellor, Justin Beilby, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Adelaide United for the benefit of our students and the Club.

“Torrens University Australia is part of Laureate International Universities, the largest higher education organisation in the world with more than 80 institutions in 28 countries and over a million students.

“Collaboration with other organisations in our community is a key principle of how we operate.

“Through these collaborations we create the kind of innovation in education that results in more students graduating and succeeding in their careers.

“The opportunity for our design students to work with the club gives them the kind of real world experience that will make them more employable.”

For those looking to start a career in sport, Torrens University Australia offers a Bachelor of Business (Sports Management) and a Master of Business Administration (Sports Management).
