Cassio is out but what other changes and inclusions have the Reds made for their match against Melbourne Heart?
Cassio is the only casualty from last Saturday night-s loss to Melbourne Victory after he ruptured his hamstring tendon, while Coach Josep Gombau will be without defender Jon McKain for another week as he struggles to shrug off a virus that kept him from taking the field against the Victory.
Michael Zullo appears likely to start at left back, while Antony Golec and Jake Barker-Daish have been promoted and named in an extended 18-player squad.
Encouragingly, Daniel Bowles has started to spend some time training with the main group as he nears his recovery from his ankle injury, while reserve goalkeeper Paul Izzo is also progressing well from a hip flexor problem.
The big news coming out of the Melbourne Heart camp is the return of captain Harry Kewell from an ankle injury, the former Socceroo certain to be hoping he can inspire the home side to its first win of the season.
No doubt the players that run out for Adelaide United on Sunday will have something to say about that. Kick-Off is at 4:30pm ACDT.
