The Round 21 match between Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix has been moved from Sunday March 2nd to Thursday February 27th at 7pm.
As our fans will be aware the original program for Round 21 saw the Reds playing on March 2nd against Wellington Phoenix, which is a direct clash with the Clipsal 500 – in fact the match was programmed to kick off at the same time the race is scheduled to start.
After a very disappointing crowd of 6,878 in the corresponding fixture last year the club requested that we play an away match on the weekend of the hugely popular Adelaide motor sport event however this request was ignored. Since the fixture was first released the club has been working with the FFA to have the fixture changed and we are pleased to announce this request has been successful.
The fixture has now been changed as follows:
• Thursday 27th of February
• 7pm Kick off
• All Pre-purchased tickets, corporate tickets and memberships will be valid
We trust our fans will embrace the change however acknowledge that some fans will be affected. We also realise that many local clubs train on Thursdays but hope given the time between this announcement and the match those affected can alter their training schedule for this one off match to allow players and coaches to attend.
Thursday night football presents a great opportunity to attend A-League football during the week as the Reds push hard for a spot in the finals. We hope to see you there!
