Ahead of Adelaide United’s away clash with Melbourne City at AAMI Park on Sunday, Opta has provided the key statistics.

The Reds come into the clash unbeaten in their past three matches, most recently recording a plucky 0-0 draw with ladder leaders Sydney FC.

However, Adelaide have only tasted success once in their past four meetings with City.

Marco Kurz’s men have the second-best defensive record in the competition behind Sydney, conceding 17 goals.

Moreover, they have also kept a first-half clean sheet in each of their previous four matches on the road.

Reds Captain, Isaías, leads the league in interceptions with 48 and boasts a passing accuracy rate of 82%.

Jordan Elsey delivered another scintillating defensive performance in that draw with the Sky Blues. The young defender won seven of his nine duels, made four clearances and three interceptions.

Jordan O’Doherty again impressed in midfield last time out, registering a 92% passing accuracy, won five duels and created three chances.

German midfielder, Daniel Adlung, bossed the centre of the park against Sydney, winning four tackles and eight duels as well as completing 75% of his passes.

Adelaide United will face Melbourne City in Round 17 of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season on Sunday, 21 January at AAMI Park. Kick-off is at 6.30pm ACDT.
