Ahead of Adelaide United’s intriguing clash against Newcastle Jets on Saturday, Opta has provided the key statistics.

Adelaide has not come away with a victory from the Hunter region since a 1-0 win in March 2015, recording two draws and one defeat.

The Reds have suffered just two losses in their previous nine matches against the Jets, triumphant on four occasions, leaving three stalemates.

United have also won their past two league matches away from home for the first time since April 2016.

Ersan Gülüm recorded a 79% passing accuracy rate, won 11 of his 14 duels, made nine clearances and four interceptions in a resolute performance against Melbourne Victory last weekend.

Isaías completed 88% of his passes, created two chances for his teammates, delivered four crosses, committed three successful tackles, and prevailed in nine of his 11 duels in a dominant display against Melbourne.

The Spaniard has also attempted the second highest number of passes in the final third (101) this season, only Newcastle’s Ben Kantarovski has more with 112.

Striker, Baba Diawara, opened his account with a classy header against the Victory and fired three shots at goal.

Paul Izzo enjoyed another fantastic outing in goal last round, producing six saves, which included denying Besart Berisha from the penalty spot.

Adelaide United will face Newcastle Jets in Round 11 of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season on Saturday, 16 December at McDonald Jones Stadium. Kick-off is at 5.05pm ACDT.
