Adelaide United FC midfielder Paul Reid is free to line up against the Wellington Phoenix at Hindmarsh Stadium on Saturday night after his red card was rescinded by Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) Match Review Panel (MVP) this afternoon.
The MVP-s decision to expunge Reid-s red card and consequent one match suspension came after the midfielder and the club lodged an Obvious Error (Red Card) Application with the FFA earlier today.
Reid received a straight red card from referee Chris Beath in the 80th minute of the Reds- match with Gold Coast United at Skilled Park last night following a collision with Gold Coast defender John Curtis.
The outcome of Reid-s Obvious Error Application is the second time the Reds have had a red card rescinded this season, the result welcome news as Adelaide United prepares to back up after last night-s draining encounter on the Gold Coast with a massive home game against the Phoenix on Saturday night.
