Registrations open for U16 MIC Squad

The Adelaide United Football Club in conjunction with Adelaide United Members Club Inc. will be taking an U16 boys team to compete in the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in April 2017 along with players from the Reds Youth Team and Reserve Team.

The Adelaide United Football Club in conjunction with Adelaide United Members Club Inc. will be taking an U16 boys team to compete in the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in April 2017 along with players from the Reds Youth Team and Reserve Team.

This is a great opportunity for up and coming footballers. Players from the 2016 U16s squad were identified and given the opportunity to trial for the 2017 NPL squad with 3 players being given the opportunity for selection in the Adelaide United 2017 NPL Reserve Squad.

The MIC is held at Easter along the Costa Brava in Girona (Northeast coast of Spain) from the 11th – 16th April 2017.

Trials for the U16 squad will occur at  Ridley Reserve, Elizabeth from the 21st November (see Trials Information below for more details).

To be eligible for registration, boys must be born between 1/1/2001 – 31/12/2002 with the allowance for overage goal keeper born 1/7/2000 and 31/12/2002. Players will be required to bring a photo copy of proof of age to trials.

All players attending trials must carefully read the information sheet below and complete the registration form below later than midday Friday 18th November 2016.

Along the 15 years of history, the MIC has seen many talents that not long after became professional footballers, playing with some of the most recognised teams in the world.

MIC celebrates its 17th year as an international youth football tournament. 

The Cup consists of:

  • More than 500 football matches in 5 competition days
  • More than 6,000 accredited participants
  • Several live-stream matches
  • 29 fields around different Girona towns
  • More than 200 teams representing 40 different countries over the 5 continents
