The Young Reds fought for a point in a very tense Round 2 of the Foxtel Y-League 2017/18 Season, after a 1-1 draw with a strong Melbourne City Youth side at Marden Sport Complex on Saturday.

Braedyn Crowley of Melbourne City Youth opened the scoring following a mazy run from Daniel Arzani ended in a low pass across the box.

A fast start from Melbourne City caught Adelaide on the back foot for the majority of the first half.

Both teams exchanged chances during the opening stanza while Melbourne City were firmly on top, however, that changed drastically in the second half.

Just under ten minutes after the break, Lachlan Brook scuffed a shot through the Melbourne City defence which eventually found the run of Charlie Deveraux who delicately chipped goalkeeper James Delianov.

Pacifique Niyongabire came on shortly after the Adelaide goal, acting as a livewire on the left wing and impacting the game, creating multiple chances.

Opportunities for Adelaide came thick and fast during the second half and as the Young Reds searched for a winner.

Late in the second half Melbourne came back into the game, however neither team were able to find a winner and claim three points.
