Adelaide United is delighted to confirm the re-signings of American duo Katie Naughton and Danny Colaprico and the acquisitions of Makenzy Doniak and Alyssa Mautz for the Westfield W-League 2017/18 season.

Naughton and Colaprico return to Adelaide on one-year contracts, on loan from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Club Chicago Red Stars, after spending the Westfield W-League 2016/17 campaign with the Club.

Adelaide United Women’s vice-captain for 2016/17, Naughton, has represented the United States at U-15, U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels and was drafted by Chicago Red Stars in 2016, amassing 30 appearances.

Last season with Adelaide, the 23-year-old centre-back featured in all 12 Westfield W-League games and was a resolute presence in defence.

Colaprico, who has accumulated over 50 appearances for the Chicago Red Stars, was drafted by the team in 2015 and was awarded the NWSL’s Rookie of the Year following a superb season.

The 24-year-old midfielder has received two call-ups to the United States Women’s National Team in November 2015 and October 2016.

Like her teammate in Naughton, Colaprico played in every match for the Reds last campaign and scored two goals.

Doniak arrives to the Club having played for Western New York Flash in the NWSL, before the Club was relocated to North Carolina to become the Courage for the 2017 season.

The 23-year-old attacker has accumulated 45 appearances in the top-flight, scoring four goals in the process and has represented the U.S. at U-20 and U-23 levels.

Meanwhile, Mautz, 28, moves to the Reds boasting a wealth of experience.

The midfielder has scored 10 goals in 97 matches in the NWSL with the Red Stars since making her debut four years ago.

She also enjoyed a spell with Russian team FC Zorky in 2013, before playing every minute in every match with Perth Glory last campaign as they reached the final.

Head Coach, Ivan Karlović, praised all four signings and believes they will add great pedigree to the squad.

“We are delighted to have retained Danny and Katie for the upcoming season,” he said.

“And we are also excited to see what Makenzy and Alyssa will bring to the squad.

“These players are all established American imports with a lot of experience which will strengthen our push for a successful season.”

Adelaide kick-off their Westfield W-League 2017/18 season away to Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 2 on Friday, 3 November, following an opening round bye.
