Adelaide United defeated Perth Glory 1-0 in their second pre-season clash.

Adelaide United defeated Perth Glory 1-0 in their second pre-season clash on Sunday at Belmore Sports Ground, Sydney.

It was a second half strike by defender Nigel Boogaard who made the difference, where he latched onto an Osama Malik free kick to break the deadlock.

Head Coach Josep Gombau was satisfied with the result, which has left the Reds unbeaten in two pre-season games ahead of this Fridays LFP World Challenge match against Málaga CF at Adelaide Oval.

“The game was nice for both sides. It was a typical pre-season game where both sides were trying lots of new players,” Gombau said.

“The boys did well, everyone world hard.”

Since Perth Glory were already in Sydney, the Reds made a day trip to Sydney for the game because it wanted a hit-out against A-Leauge opposition ahead of this Friday’s game.

Adelaide United will take on Málaga CF this Friday 25 July at Adelaide Oval as part of the LFP World Challenge. The match will mark the first football match at the new redeveloped Adelaide Oval.
