Like in previous years, the player worn Remembrance jerseys for Adelaide United’s match against Perth Glory on Sunday will be signed and auctioned.
Following the game, bids can be placed on each of the playing shirts which will be individually signed by the respective player through the Club’s online auction site. The auction closes next Friday, 16 November at 5pm. Register now so you can make a bid.
All proceeds from the jerseys will go towards supporting the Poppy Appeal, an organisation that assists veterans and their families.
A limited number of jerseys will also be made available for purchase at $110 from the merchandise outlets around Coopers Stadium on game day.
The shirt, designed subtle in nature, pays tribute to the servicemen and servicewomen that fought for our freedom on the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War One.
A Poppy appears in the centre of the chest, while soldiers are depicted marching in solidarity with the words, “Remembrance Day” and the date inscribed at the bottom right corner of the shirt.
On the back of the jersey, a single soldier is shown kneeling, honouring the fallen heroes, with the expression of remembrance “Lest we forget” written. Meanwhile, the piping shrike with the Club’s foundation year just below features at the base of the neck, identical to the Hyundai A-League strip.
Blue shorts in addition to red socks complement the Red jersey.
