New Spanish signing Sergio Cirio has officially been unveiled, as the Reds- jigsaw for 2013/14 takes shape.

Pronounced Theer-ee-O, Cirio touched down in Adelaide on Sunday night, his first time to ‘the land down under-.

Still feeling the effects of the long flight over, the 28 year old is the second of the Reds- Spanish Armada to arrive after countryman Isaias Sanchez flew in just over a week ago.

At just 163cm, Cirio does not cut the most physically imposing figure but what the pint sized forward lacks in size, he has proven to more than make up for in his prowess at setting up goals and scoring them.

Cirio found the back of the net 21 times for Catalunyan Segunda (Second) Division club L-Hospitalet last season before Reds Coach Josep Gombau lured him to Adelaide on a two year deal.

Cirio watched on as his new team mates took on local Premier League club MetroStars in a pre season hit out. He is excited about the opportunity to test himself in the Hyundai A-League, while also helping to spread the ‘Spanish- style of football but most importantly contribute to bringing on field success to Adelaide United.

Cirio will wear the number 9 shirt, the number last worn by prolific marksman Sergio van Dijk. Reds supporters will be hoping Cirio can produce a similar impact to the one that van Dijk had in his time at the club.
