Adelaide United FC has organised a host of trial games this month as the squad continues to build towards the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season.

The opposition will be comprised of local and A-League clubs, with the LFP World Challenge match against Málaga CF on Friday 25 July at Adelaide Oval as the feature.

The first game will be tomorrow night against Metro Stars at Marden Sports Complex, kicking off at 7:30pm. The Reds will then play Adelaide Comets later in the month. In past years, these games have been an integral part of the club’s community involvement and are a chance for local league players to compete against South Australia’s Hyundai A-League team. Additionally, it has also been a fundraising opportunity for each of the local clubs having Adelaide United FC on their doorstep.

Along with these local matches, the Reds will also travel to Sydney to take on Perth Glory, the weekend before they face La Liga side, Málaga CF.

With just over 3 weeks to go until the Westfield FFA Cup campaign begins against Wellington Phoenix, Gombau believes these games will be valuable in allowing the players to put in place within match conditions, what they have been working on at training.

“It is very important that we start playing games. We need to see how our new players are working with their teammates. It is time to put our skills to practice.” Gombau said.

“With Málaga coming up, we need match fitness, and games like this will help.

“We appreciate that the local clubs are willing to play these games.”

The games will give a first glimpse of Josep Gombau’s squad for the upcoming season, giving the new players a chance to hit the pitch with their new teammates.

This Tuesday Night’s game will also serve as a good warm up for the upcoming match against La Liga side, Málaga CF.

Fans of both clubs can see the players in action at the Marden Sports Complex for free. Gates will open at 6:30pm, with a 7:30pm kick-off.
