Reds learn Birthplace Cup International Youth Football Championship fate

Adelaide United Youth have been drawn in Group A of the Birthplace Cup International Youth Football Championship which gets underway in Zibo, China on 12 October.

The Reds will send an Under 16 side to the tournament and feature alongside Spanish giants Atlético Madrid and CFA Rising Star Training Team of Olympic 2024 (Team A).

Players in the squad were identified from the Club’s July Holiday Football Schools Program.

International flights, internal transport, accommodation and meals for the team whilst in China will all be paid for by the Zibo Sports Bureau thanks to the Playford Council.

Adelaide open its campaign against CFA Rising Star Training Team of Olympic 2024 (Team A) at the Zibo Sports Centre.

United will then face Atlético two days later on 13 October at the Linzi Stadium.

The winner of Group A takes on the runners-up of Group B which includes English Premier League outfit Southampton, French side Bordeaux and CFA Rising Star Training Team of Olympic 2024 (Team B).
