Adelaide United will be holding open trials for the Club’s 2016 National Premier League (NPL) squad.
On the back of a successful 2015 State League campaign, the Young Reds were promoted to the 2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) South Australia.
The Reds are keen to secure the best talent available within South Australia, by holding these sessions, and will have Head Coach, Guillermo Amor, Assistant Coach, Pau Martì, Head Goalkeeping Coach, Peter Blazincic and High Performance Manager, Greg King, oversee the trials.
Speaking of the significance of the trials and the chance they present many young South Australian footballers, General Manager of Football, Ante Kovacevic, explained it was a unique opportunity.
“We would like to invite all eligible players to participate in the trials for our NPL team,” Kovacevic said.
“When trying to identify talent, some players slip through the cracks and miss out on opportunities.
“This open trial will give players a chance to show their talents in front of the Adelaide United coaching staff, in preparation for our inaugural participation in the top tier of South Australian football.”
Current Foxtel National Youth League Head Coach, Michael Valkanis, will not be managing the Club’s NPL squad, but will continue to assist Guillermo Amor with the Hyundai A-League squad. Adelaide United is currently assessing a number of worthy candidates to take the reins of the team.
Trials will commence on Sunday 17 January 2016 at 9am, with future sessions to be finalised, if required. The trials will take place at the Adelaide United Training Centre, Elizabeth (Enter via Media Gates at Ridley Reserve, Fairfield Road).
To be eligible for the trials, players must be born between 1 January 1996 and 31 December 2000.
Adelaide United will begin their NPL campaign when they take on NPL Grand Final runners-up Adelaide Blue Eagles at Elite Systems Football Centre on Sunday 28 February 2016.
