Mirko, welcome to Adelaide United! How does it feel to be part of our Club?

Thank you. I’m very happy about that, it’s really a new experience for me and I’m looking forward to what is coming in this next stage of my career.

Do you know much about Adelaide United and do you know much about Adelaide as a city?

I talked to Marco (Kurz) and Daniel Adlung before signing and they told me that it’s a nice city, the main city of South Australia, and it’s close to the beach. I’m looking forward to getting to know that!

You mentioned you spoke to Marco and Daniel. Did they tell you much about the football club and about Coopers Stadium and what to expect from our fans?

Marco and Daniel told me a lot. They said it’s really fun to play here and it’s nice and I’m looking forward to it all.

You spent a long time at your previous club but how excited are you to have a new experience here in Australia and in the Hyundai A-League?

I played for my last club for 10 years and now it was time for a new step. It’s a big experience for me and I’m very happy about that and it’s another country!

Have you been to Australia before, or is this your first time?

This is my first time so I’m very happy about that.

How would you describe yourself as a footballer and what can our fans expect from you on the football pitch?

I think I’m a mentality player. On the pitch I think the first thing that I have to do is to fight, to run, and then I want to play football. I want to bring the ball from the defence to the offence to create chances and, when it’s possible, to go into the box to make goals.

You’ve signed here for two years, what are you hoping to achieve in that time?

I’m a winner. I want to win every game and that’s my goal and I think that’s the goals of the Club. But how that’s possible we’ll see. I’m here to win every game and to give everything that I have and after that we’ll look at what we can achieve.

Adelaide United host Central Coast Mariners in the Round of 32 of the FFA Cup 2018 on Wednesday, 1 August at Marden Sports Complex. Kick-off is at 7.00 PM ACST.
