When did you start supporting Adelaide United?
I have been going to games since the opening season and have been a member for seven years now. I have loved every minute of being a member for the last seven years: the good moments and the bad.
What made you fall in love with the club and what made you become a member?
I absolutely love football and what better team to support than our Reds?! It’s the best emotional rollercoaster I have ever been on and I can’t say I have ever been so passionate about another sporting team. I guess that’s why my family and I are at every home game just after the gates open to start that rollercoaster. We love watching the stands fill up, the players warm up, and of course Jarrod Walsh getting everyone pumped – all before the important starting line-ups then WONDERWALL!
What is your favourite memory from a Reds match?
My favourite memory now would be our Grand Final victory. The atmosphere was like nothing I have been involved with before and watching the boys lift the trophy after all their hard work and in Amor’s first senior role was just amazing. The sealer by Pablo Sanchez that sent Adelaide Oval crazy and into one of the loudest moments I have ever heard. There have been plenty of amazing moments over my seven years with the Reds… come from behind wins and the flogging we gave North Queensland Fury was also magical and was probably my favourite game from Sergio van Dijk.
If you could say anything to a Reds fan who is thinking of becoming a member, but hasn’t yet, what would you say?
You can see by my photos that members of my family and friends come to the games too because they love it as well. Going to matches and being members of the Club is a great for meeting new people at Coopers too. If anyone is thinking of becoming a member, do it! It will be the best money you have ever spent getting along and cheering the boys on all season and soaking in every second of supporting your hometown club!
