Marcelo Carrusca is featured in our ADLUNITE match programme for Round 9 against Wellington Phoenix!
One of Adelaide’s most successful imports, Argentine sensation Marcelo Carrusca, never ceases to amaze when he graces the pitch.
He makes the impossible appear possible, and has consistently performed since arriving at Coopers Stadium four years ago. Possessing a lethal left foot, Carrusca has been terrorising opposition defences with his dazzling array of skills and ability to thread an incisive pass where it is seemingly inconceivable to do so.
Carrusca joined the Club ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2012/13 season and immediately generated a great sense of anticipation among Reds fans, given his respected pedigree. The playmaker emerged through the youth ranks of Argentine club Estudiantes before amassing over 100 senior appearances across two spells.
His auspicious form saw the then 22-year-old sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray in 2006, but after struggling to nail down a regular starting spot he was loaned to Cruz Azul in Mexico. Following his loan move he returned to his boyhood club for a season, before subsequently enjoying stints at Banfield and San Martin de San Juan.
