Marrone ruptures Achilles tendon

Adelaide United Football Club advises that defender, Michael Marrone, has ruptured his Achilles tendon.

Michael Marrone ruptured his Achilles tendon during the Reds’ 3-1 Grand Final triumph over Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday evening. 

The recovery time for such an injury is six to nine months.

Speaking on Marrone’s injury, the Club’s doctor, Dr James Ilic, said: “We discussed surgery and conservative treatment, but the decision made with Michael, the Adelaide United Medical Staff, and the surgeon was to proceed with surgery.”

The Adelaide United Football Club wishes Michael a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the football pitch.
