Adelaide United has snapped a seven match losing streak and climbed off the bottom of the W-League table after a 2-0 win over Newcastle Jets at Burton Park in their Round 9 clash.

A goal from guest player Kristy Moore and a second by Ruth Wallace helped the Lady Reds to claim all three points and leapfrog the Jets who now occupy tenth place.

Moore joined the Lady Reds as a guest after a 15-year career playing top flight football in England and Norway and the experience and class of the Toppserien-s fifth all-time leading scorer showed.

The Lady Reds opened the better of the two sides and Moore had the best chance of the first half when she was put through by Jess Waterhouse two minutes before the break.

The Australia and England international was bearing down on goal but couldn-t find the back of the net as Jets- keeper Eliza Campbell deny the pacey forward.

Adelaide came out firing in the second half and continued to create chances going forward, but failed to capitalise on the score board.

Moore was in the thick of the action again on the hour, getting on the end of a cross from the right but blasted her shot straight at Campbell.

Minutes later Moore raced onto the end of a defence-splitting pass from Abby Erceg, who was relishing a new role in the heart of midfield.

With the Jets keeper rushing out to meet Moore, she tried to flick the ball through Campbell-s legs but was denied by the visitors shot stopper.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 68th minute and it was Moore who gave the Lady Reds a well deserved lead.

Moore latched onto another through ball from Erceg and raced away before toe-poking her shot under the onrushing keeper.

Two minutes later and Wallace scored a brilliant individual goal, dancing past two players on the edge of the area before rounding Campbell and finishing with her left foot from a tight angle to help the Lady Reds seal victory.
