Ken Ilsø stated Adelaide United are in a buoyant mood ahead of an intriguing meeting with Sydney FC at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.

The Reds come into the match off the back of a pulsating 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory midweek, extending their undefeated run to four games.

As a result of that impressive result, Ilsø said the mood within the squad was quite high.

“The morale is very good at the moment,” Ilsø told a press conference at Adelaide Airport.

“It was a very important win for us and we had been agreeing in the dressing room that we needed to come out from the first minute against Victory and put them under pressure straight away.

“I think we had a really good first-half and we need to build on from that now against Sydney.”

Another huge test awaits the Reds, despite Sydney’s four-match winning streak ended against table-toppers Perth Glory during the week following a 3-1 loss.

The Dane hoped Adelaide could carry the positives from their win against Victory into the clash with the Sky Blues.

“Sydney is a very good team and it’s a good home team as well,” he said.

“But again we come and want to show we’re proud of playing for Adelaide and we want to bring the victory against Melbourne Victory to Sydney and show them that we’re going to go there and get the three points.”

Ilsø doubled Adelaide’s advantage with his third goal of the season against Kevin Muscat’s team.

The 32-year-old said the goal was a confidence booster and is optimistic it would spark a purple patch in front of goal.

“I want to be scoring a lot more,” he continued.

“It was my first goal at Coopers Stadium and it’s very important for me and I want to keep scoring and getting more confidence as an offensive player.

“It’s important to put the ball in the net and I’m going to Sydney to try and do that again.”
