After succumbing to a fourth straight defeat, Ben Halloran insists Adelaide United’s recent run of form is unacceptable.

Despite a promising start, the Reds suffered a 3-0 defeat to Perth Glory at HBF Park on Saturday night.

Halloran lamented his side’s overall disappointing display, and suggested they need to rectify defensive lapses in concentration while being more clinical in attack.

“We’re on just a bad patch at the moment,” the winger told Fox Sports after the game.

“I think we played relatively good football but at the end of the day when you lose 3-0 it’s not a good performance.

“We’re too sloppy at the back and not creating enough up front, we just really need to improve and quickly.”

The 27-year-old said they must not panic but improve quickly as they welcome arch rivals Melbourne Victory to Coopers Stadium on Friday night.

The Reds have never lost five consecutive Hyundai A-League matches since the competition’s inception – a record they hope to avoid.

“We just need to keep calm,” he confessed, after United slipped to seventh on the table.

“It’s not like we’re bottom of the table or anything, but four games (losses) on the trot is really not good enough.

“We’re not playing terrible football, but it’s still not good enough to beat some of the better teams in the competition and we just need to improve.”
