Ben Halloran says he is delighted to be in the FFA Cup 2018 Final after scoring his maiden goal for Adelaide United.

The Reds dispatched Victorian National Premier League outfit, Bentleigh Greens, 2-0 in the Semi-finals on Friday night.

The 26-year-old, who broke the deadlock with a simple finish, was thrilled his side managed to come out on top but praised the Greens’ competitiveness.

He stated that netting a second goal, which arrived via Jordan Elsey’s instinctive reaction to follow-up Isaías’ parried free-kick was crucial.

“Bentleigh pushed us all the way in the end,” Halloran told Fox Sports.

“It was fortunate that we scored a goal in the second-half and killed it off a bit, but credit to Bentleigh they played really well and pushed us all the way.”

Halloran admitted the helter-skelter start to the match was surprising.

“It was just back and forth we really didn’t do too well to get control of the game,” he said.

“There really wasn’t much of a midfield it was just going back and forth.

“But just happy to get the win and looking forward to the final now.”

Halloran, who joined the Reds on a two-year deal, after five years abroad in Germany and most recently Japan revealed he is enjoying life in his new environment.

“I’m loving there’s a great bunch of boys and everyone’s pretty down to earth,” he said.

“And you can’t beat the Aussie camaraderie so happy to be back.”

The Reds will face the winner of Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers in tomorrow night’s other Semi-final, with the draw to reveal the host of the title decider occurring after the game, live and exclusive on Fox Sports, Channel 503.
