The Lady Reds will be looking to build on their positive improvement this season when they meet Perth Glory at Burton Park on Saturday in Week 9 of the 2011/12 Westfield W-League campaign.

Adelaide United sense this is a great opportunity to snap their losing streak after last tasting victory with a 3-2 win against Sydney FC at Hindmarsh Stadium in November 2008.

Perth-s current form slump has seen the Glory trounced by Sydney in a record 11-0 defeat a fortnight ago before another heavy thrashing last week losing 5-0 to Melbourne Victory.

Lady Reds coach David Edmondson maintained the focus has been on continually improving and positive performances and not chalking up that elusive win.

“For us it has been business as usual this week,” he said.

“Every week and the next game is the best chance of breaking the streak so it is just important that we prepare as well as possible every week to give ourselves the best chance of getting a result.”

“We have been improving; we showed more composure on the ball at times against Brisbane and that is something we are focussing on in the second half of the season. So if we can keep improving in that area results will follow.”

Edmondson admitted this may not be the ideal time to take on the Glory, with Perth looking to snap their own horrid run of form this month.

But after a spirited performance in last week-s 2-0 loss to the Roar, Edmondson remains confident of another promising display.

“After two tough results, I am sure Perth will be even more determined to get back on the right track themselves,” he said.

“The players and the coaching staff will be determined to get their season back on a high before Christmas and I am sure they will be targeting this game to do that.”

“Despite their recent results Perth have some good players and experienced players who will be hurting at the moment so I am under no illusions about this being an easy game so we are preparing the same way we would every week.”

“As I have said before, if we do our jobs properly and play the way we want to, then we are capable of getting a result against anyone.”
