Adelaide United FC duo Eugene Galekovic and Dario Vidosic have been named in a 26-player squad for the Qantas Socceroos- upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Japan, Jordan and Iraq.

Galekovic and Vidosic are among seven Hyundai A-League players in the squad that was announced by Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck for the three crucial matches in Australia-s road to qualification for next year-s World Cup in Brazil.

The Reds duo, who have spent time training in Sydney under the watchful eye of Osieck and his assistant coach, former Reds coach Aurelio Vidmar, were rewarded for their standout Hyundai A-League 2012/13 seasons.

Galekovic is one of three goalkeepers in the squad alongside veteran Mark Schwarzer and German based Mitchell Langerak, while Vidosic will be pushing for his first international game time as a Socceroo since June 2011.

The Qantas Socceroos squad will fly out for Japan on May 26 for the June 4 encounter before returning home for the two matches against Jordan (June 11 – Melbourne) and Iraq (June 18 – Sydney) on Australian soil.

The Qantas Socceroos are currently in third position of Group B and need positive results from their remaining three matches to secure a top two place in the group to guarantee automatic qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Click here for more details.
