Although the trip across the ditch didn’t result in three points for United, there was one reason to celebrate. As fan favourite Bruce Djite stepped onto Eden Park in Auckland, it marked his 100th appearance in all competitions for Adelaide United Football Club.

In his two stints with United, Djite had 35 appearances with 11 goals in his debut stint with the club, and since the 2011/12 season he has played in 55 Hyundai A-league matches (10 goals) and 10 ACL appearances with one goal.

Djite-s accomplishments include:
Nine Socceroos caps
Adelaide United Rising Star and Leading Goal Scorer – 2007/08
Hyundai A-League Young Player of the Year – 2008
Adelaide United Team Man of the year – 2012/13

Djite was pleasantly surprised when told of his achievement. “It is a great honour to play 100 games for the club, hopefully I can play 100 more.” said Djite.

When asked what games have been most memorable for him, two matches quickly came to mind “The penalty shootout win against Newcastle in the 2006/07 A-League Preliminary Final at Hindmarsh was a special game for everyone at the club and also scoring my first goal for Adelaide United against Seongnam in the 2007 AFC Champions League campaign was a very memorable moment for me” he said.
