Adelaide United FC would like to advise that young central defender Jordan Elsey has flown to Hong Kong to join leading Super League side Kitchee FC on loan for the remainder of the season subject to a successful medical check.

The loan deal will see the 19 year old remain with Kitchee until the end of May before returning to Adelaide to re-join the Reds for the lead up to the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season.

The club coached to two championships by current Adelaide United coach Josep Gombau, Kitchee currently sit on top of the table in the Hong Kong Super League and will also compete in the 2014 AFC Cup.

Gombau sees the opportunity as a great development experience for Elsey.

“I believe Jordan will gain a lot by playing in Hong Kong in a good competition and also to have the opportunity to play in the AFC Cup will be invaluable for him and also for us,” Gombau said.

“He will come back with many senior games and good quality matches under his belt.”

Subject to his medical clearance and receipt of his work permit, the deal should be finalised within the next few days.
