Elimination Final Stats Preview - #MVCvADL

Ahead of Adelaide United’s do-or-die Elimination Final clash with fierce rivals Melbourne Victory, Opta has provided the key statistics.

The Original Rivalry returns to the Hyundai A-League Finals Series for the first time since the 2009 Grand Final at AAMI Park on Sunday.

Adelaide have never beaten the Victory in the finals and are also yet to win a finals match on the road, something United will be determined to change.

The Reds returned to form with a 3-2 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers in the last round of regular season and are unbeaten in four of their past five games.

Ryan Kitto’s match-winner moved him as the Club’s top league scorer this year with seven goals.

Nikola Mileusnic registered a team-high five assists in that triumph, while Nathan Konstandopoulos won 10 of his 12 duels in midfield.

Captain, Isaías, leads the competition in recovering possession for his team this season at an average of 10 times per game.

Taylor Regan, who was brought on at half-time against the Wanderers, made seven clearances and one interception.

Paul Izzo remarkably saved his fourth penalty of the campaign, this time denying Oriol Riera from the spot.

Adelaide United face Melbourne Victory in the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Elimination Final on Sunday, 22 April at AAMI Park. Kick-off is at 5.30pm ACST.
