Čavušević ruled out with knee injury

Adelaide United advises that forward, Džengis Čavušević, has ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

Čavušević, who scored his first goal for the Reds in a 5-2 win against Newcastle Jets in Round 24, suffered the injury innocuously during a training session ahead of the Club’s match with Wellington Phoenix.

Speaking on Čavušević’s injury, the Club’s doctor, Dr James Ilic, said: “Džengis has had scans on his knee to determine the nature of this injury and we can confirm he has ruptured the ACL in his left knee.

“Džengis will now discuss the best course of action with a surgeon to begin the recovery process as soon as possible.”

Everyone involved with Adelaide United wishes Džengis a speedy recovery and hope to see him back playing football as soon as possible.
