The Reds’ popular Brazilian defender and pocket rocket Cassio will officially be able to call himself an Australian on Friday.

Popular Adelaide United FC defender Cassio will officially be able to call himself an Australian on Friday.

Cassio, his wife Juliana and their two sons, Bernardo and Henrique, currently fall under Brazilian nationality but will all officially become Australian citizens at a special ceremony to take place at Hindmarsh Stadium at 11.30am this Friday (7 September 2012).

There is arguably no more fitting location for the ceremony than at the Reds- spiritual home, considering the dual Adelaide United Club Champion-s influence and contribution to club and the game in this State since he arrived in Adelaide in June, 2007.

The ceremony will be conducted by Federal Member for Hindmarsh, Steve Georganas MP, while Adelaide United-s squad, football and administration staff, and a number of Cassio-s close friends will also be in attendance. Adelaide United supporters are also welcome to attend.

Media are invited to take footage and photographs during the ceremony, while there will be an interview opportunity with Cassio once the ceremony has concluded at approximately 12.00pm.
