Marcelo Carrusca to catch up with former team-mate Carlos Tevez.

Marcelo Carrusca says the chance to catch up with former team-mate Carlos Tevez is an added bonus to next week’s Foxtel A-League All Stars clash against Juventus in Sydney.

The Adelaide United midfielder played alongside Tevez in the Argentinian under-20 side that qualified for the 2003 FIFA Youth World Cup.

Tevez is part of a star-studded Juve side that is heading to Sydney for the August 10 clash against the Hyundai A-League’s best.

The Foxtel A-League All Stars arrived at their Wollongong base on Friday to prepare for the huge clash, with Carrusca excited about the opportunity of coming up against his old mate.

“I hope he remembers me,” Carrusca joked.

“I remember him which is important. We played together to qualify for the under-20 World Cup and we won so we qualified.

“I played the World Cup but he couldn’t play because he was in the first team at Boca juniors.”

While Tevez was making a name for himself at famous Argentine club Boca, Carrusca graduated into the first team at rivals Estudiantes.

They played against each other in the domestic league before taking very different career paths.

But they will be reunited for the first time in almost a decade at ANZ Stadium on August 10.

“He was a team-mate and we had a good relationship but after a couple of years we both left the country and I haven’t seen him since.

“He’s amazing player. He was playing in all the national teams, under 15, under-17, under-20, since he was very young everyone knew his quality.

“It will be good to see him again after all these years. Hopefully I can get his jersey.”

Carrusca was part of the inaugural Foxtel A-League All Stars side that went down to Manchester United last year but is thrilled to have another chance to impress the local fans.

“To play in front of so many people against this club is amazing,” the 30-year-old said.

“You maybe have one chance in your life to play against this team. We’ll try and enjoy and it’s something we’ll never forget.

“We want the fans to enjoy it too and hopefully we can get a good result. This is important, to try to win and do a good job.”

The FOXTEL A-League All Stars will meet Juventus at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on 10 August with the match to be broadcast live and exclusive on the Seven Network nationally.
