Georgia Campagnale will make history if she features against Western Sydney Wanderers Women at Marconi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Campagnale will become Adelaide United Women’s new all-time appearances leader with her 67th game for the club, breaking former Reds striker Racheal Quigley’s record.

The 24-year-old, who made her Westfield W-League debut in 2014, has featured in every game since the 2015/16 season except once when she was an unused substitute.

“It’s a great personal achievement for me,” Campagnale said about potentially reaching the milestone in the Round 7 clash.

“Obviously I’ve been a part of the club for seven seasons now, so it’s great that I can break that record in this current season we’re in.

“I’ve enjoyed the last seven seasons, with all the coaches I’ve had, all the teammates I’ve had.

“I think this season has been great and with the team we’ve got I really believe we can take it to the finals this year.”

Campagnale added that three points against the Wanderers would perfectly mark the occasion after Adelaide suffered its first loss in four matches last week against Melbourne Victory Women.

She said the squad has remained positive despite the 1-0 setback.

“Last game was obviously a disappointing overall team performance,” she said.

“We definitely didn’t play to our potential and the way we’ve been playing.

“We’ve talked about that and areas we can look to improve on and we worked hard to fix those areas that weren’t good enough.”

Campagnale said Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, wanted to see his side play through the midfield more consistently and to be clinical in the final third.

Western Sydney have struggled to begin the campaign, registering just the one win and are desperate to snap a three-game losing streak.

But the midfielder insisted they will not be taking them lightly, knowing a triumph will consolidate its place in the top four.

“Any team in the W-League you can’t underestimate,” she said.

“We’re definitely not underestimating the Wanderers at all but we do feel confident because it’s an important game for us to stay in the top four as well.”
