Adelaide United will be taking an U16 boys team to compete in the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in Barcelona, Spain, in 2016 in addition to the Club’s Youth Team.
The Adelaide United Football Club in conjunction with Adelaide United Members Club Inc. will be taking an U16 boys team to compete in the Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) in March 2016 where the Reds Youth Team last year achieved a spot in the Quarter Finals.
MIC will be held between 22 March 2016 and 27 March 2016 along the Costa Brava in Girona with Adelaide United compiling a squad of up to 20 players.
Trials for the U16 squad will occur within two areas (northern and central area of SA) between 16 November and 17 December 2015 (see Trials Registration for more details).
To be eligible for registration, boys must be born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2001 and must complete the below registration form by no later than 9.00am Friday, 6 November 2015.
What is MIC?
The MIC is going to be held at several football facilities along the Costa Brava in Girona from 22/03/2016 – 27/3/2016.
Along the 15 years of history, the MIC has seen many talents that not long after became professional footballers, playing with some of the most recognised teams in the world.
The Cup consists of:
- 596 football matches in 5 competition days:
- More than 5,000 inscribed players
- More than 220,000 supporters
- Several live matches on TV
- 20 different venues (with 24 football fields)
- More than 200 teams representing 36 different nationalities over the 5 continents
