Talented teenager Daniel Margush is targeting an extended run in Adelaide United’s starting side after claiming his first clean sheet in Saturday night’s draw with Western Sydney Wanderers.

The Young Socceroos goalkeeper followed up last week’s starring effort with another assured display in the 0-0 draw at Spotless Stadium, highlighted by two top saves in the space of as many second-half minutes.

“You train for those moments so it was good I was able to stand up when called upon,” Margush told Fox Sports.

“I’ve just got to take my chance when I get it. Hopefully in the eyes of the coaches I’ve done that.

“A couple of mistakes but you can expect that as a young ‘keeper.”

Margush made special mention of the support of fellow Reds prospects Riley McGree and Jordan O’Doherty who have also cemented their places in Guillermo Amor’s outfit.

“They’ve been brilliant. I’ve been with them since I was little,” the 19-year-old explained.

“It’s a good group of boys and we all put in each week.”

McGree echoed his teammate’s delight at gaining significant minutes in recent weeks.

“Getting game time is what I need as a young player so hopefully I can get more and continue to help out the team and do well,” the midfielder told Fox Sports.
