A Red from the beginning

Less than 24 hours after being born, Ava Sophie Cibich was already a Reds member. Luckily for Ava, she had been born into a family of dedicated Reds supporters, who have been members since the club’s inception in the Hyundai A-League.

Parents Adam and Lisa Cibich were eagerly awaiting Ava’s arrival. Their first child was due to be born on the 21st of July.

“We were hoping she would come a week or so earlier so that we could be at the Adelaide United v Malaga game. We had our tickets ready to go!” explains proud father Adam.

Unfortunately Ava didn’t want to come into the world and eventually Lisa was required to deliver Ava late Thursday 24th July. As a result, the young family were unable to make the game at Adelaide Oval, but Adam and Lisa ensured that the club and players knew that they would be supporting the team from their hospital room.

The very next morning, Adam contacted the club and arranged for Ava to have a Baby Reds membership, making her the youngest ever Reds member.

“We dressed her up in our AUFC scarf and beanie and tweeted a photo to the Club,” said Lisa Cibich.

The Cibich family, along with their parents and siblings have all purchased their season passes and memberships for the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season, ensuring that Ava will not miss a single game of the Red’s campaign.

“We won’t miss a game and neither will Ava!” promised Adam.

“Her first game will be this Friday against Melbourne Victory and what a game for her to experience.”

Families with young children are encouraged to purchase memberships and get behind the Reds for this season.

Adelaide United FC memberships are still on sale with the Reds first home game coming up this Friday at Adelaide Oval against arch rival Melbourne Victory.
