Three-goal second half secures three points for Young Reds

The Young Reds secured three points in emphatic fashion with a strong 1-4 away performance at Lanham Park against Brisbane Roar in Round 5 of the Foxtel Y-League.

The Round 5 match on the road against Brisbane Roar Youth Team promised to be an exciting fixture, but no one could have predicted the exciting second-half goal extravaganza.

The first half saw both teams teasing each other up to the 28-minute mark in which the Young Reds took the lead through a Kristin Konstandopolous chip from inside the box.

Brisbane found an equaliser through Luke De Vere, who managed to score after a Brisbane short-corner.

Isaac Richards was integral, making several saves to keep the game level until the Young Reds were able to find three goals in the second half.

Pacifique Niyongabire was subbed on at the half and was vital, scoring a brace with his first putting Adelaide in the lead 60 minutes into the second half.

Aladin Irabona doubled the Adelaide lead with a tap in from close range after a quick break, leaving the Brisbane defense helpless.

Then it was Niyongabire again who killed off the game in injury time with a classy finish, icing the game in the ninety-second minute and completing his brace.
