AUFC - Colby in Qld

Sometimes every bit counts and it could have just been the case at Suncorp Stadium as two representatives from Adelaide United FC key sponsors Colby Storage Solutions went to that extra length to help The Reds get past the Queensland Roar last Friday night.

Director of Colby in Adelaide, Scott Glanville, and business partner John Gumley made the trip east to Brisbane to cheer the team on against the Roar, Glanville believing they tried their best to help The Reds get the three points.

While at the ground, the pair bumped into Queensland Roar’s official mascot Roary, and as the picture shows, they thought they had his measure (all in good fun of course), giving The Reds the edge.

This is the second season Colby has been a proud sponsor of Adelaide United FC, and the club is extremely grateful for the association it has with Colby as well as all of its other sponsors and the lengths they go to in supporting the team.

After experiencing the atmosphere at the impressive Suncorp Stadium complex, Glanville said Hindmarsh Stadium was still his first choice to watch football from.

“I think we certainly have the best ground facilities and viewing/spectator atmosphere in Australia,” Glanville said.

“It would be nice to think we could fill 17,000 seats for every home game – hopefully it will not be too far away.”

The next chance for United supporters to pack out Hindmarsh Stadium will be this Sunday as The Reds go up against Perth Glory in Round 9 of the Hyundai A-League 2008/09 Season. Gates open at 1.30pm, with kick-off to the National Youth League curtain raiser at 1.45pm before the Hyundai A-League match at 4.30pm (ACDT).
